Membership fees are £5.00 a month, which entitles you to the details of up to 10 penpals a month, and for you to have your own ad displayed on the site. Your membership is automatically renewed each month if you paid to join online. The minimum membership period is 1 month, and you can cancel your membership at any time by following the instructions on this link

Your own ad will be published on our site within days of processing your application, so people will be able to ask us for your details. The information you supply for your advert on the site should be accurate and true. The ad will stay on the site for a minimum of 6 months and can be updated by e-mailing us at joining@britishpenpals.co.uk

We will only pass members details onto other British Penpal members, so you need to be a member yourself to contact the people you see on our site.

The information you supply us with is not passed onto other organisations, and we will only give out your name and e-mail address to members, unless specified by you.

British Penpals reserve the right to refuse or suspend membership of people who we feel are considered unsuitable members of British Penpals.

We take all adverts from members in good faith and trust people to supply correct information about themselves. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that everyone will conform to these standards. We cannot be held responsible if members are proved to have supplied misleading information about themselves.

We would recommend that people do not divulge too much personal information about themselves until they are confident about who they are corresponding with. If you are planning to meet your penpal we would advise you to follow sensible guidelines, meet them in a public place, let friends where you are going and who you are meeting.

The aim of our club is to promote friendship around the world, and to give people an opportunity to experience different cultures and customs. Some of our members have found romance through our club, which we are pleased about but we do not view ourselves as a dating agency.

We do not currently accept memberships from people under the age of sixteen.

we would urge any of our members who find themselves receiving correspondence of an abusive or harassing nature to notify us, so we can take the appropriate action.

Our total Liability to you under and/or arising in relation to use of the British Penpals website and or these terms and conditions or any contract shall not exceed the amount paid by you in fees or commissions for the service (if any) under that contract.
